Spring Time for Painting!
by Michaele Emmett on 03/12/11
Spring is soon to arrive and that means for many of us spring cleaning. Dusting, window cleaning, and uncluttering. But for some reason it just all seems the same once it's said and done. Consider this! Has it been some time since you've painted your home's interior? Now is the time. What better way to clean up your spaces than with a fresh new coat paint. It gives a sense of newness like the arrival of spring and brings life back to tired walls. I garantee it'll be the best clean up you've done in years.
Creating a Bedroom Space with Good Feng Shui
by Michaele Emmett on 03/10/11Your bedroom is one of the most significant rooms in your home. To create the serenity and comfort your looking for, uncluttering and defining your bedroom space is very important. Remove work stations and other objects that do not pertain to a bedroom enviroment. Position your bed in a command position and choice a color that promotes joy, happiness and romance. Pink is considered the best color but if you prefer redder tones (fire), an accent wall works just as well. Bedrooms are for sleeping and romance not for extra storage. You will find by simply uncluttering, the mind rests easier. And if your looking for romance I'm confident things will begin to heat up!
Maximize Space by Minimizing Furniture Scale
by Michaele Emmett on 03/10/11
When we think of urban living we generally think of smaller spaces. One of the most common mistakes people make is furnishing with pieces much to large. For example, if you enjoy traditional style sofas we know they can sometimes be very bulky. Consider choosing a more transitional sofa with straighter lines. Instead of 90" in lenght, scale the size to 72". Add 1 or 2 accent chairs to compliment your sofa instead of a love seat. In doing so you create a space much more open and airy without loosing seating.
